CCR- Final Task

Image
These are my responses to the creative critical reflection questions. These four questions made me go back and reflect on everything that I have learned in this project and throughout the entire year. I made the response video news themed. I had a lot of fun creating this video as well as my final project. I am glad that I have had the opportunity to learn and grow through media studies projects this year.

Final Task: The Pink Bow

Image
This is my final task, the opening sequence of a movie titled The Pink Bow . I have enjoyed creating this project for Media Studies. My partners and I worked well together and I am glad to have had them by my side. However, I am relieved to have finished it and proud of how it turned out. I learned a lot while creating this project.

Production Blog: Sharing our Project

Image
The last time we were together, we shared our project with family and friends. They gave us feedback, and we took those into account and edited our project to fit their suggestions. They said to change the music, and edit the titles so that they were more visible and easy to read. Today, we got together one final time. We changed the music to our project. One of the group members found a song that we felt better fit. So, we reedited that. Next, we added sound effects. We found them on the same website that we found our music on. We added camera sounds to one part where it zooms in on the missing poster. We used them about four times. We also added a typewriter sound where the final title, "The Pink Bow" was written in. We made the "The" look as if it was typed in in Keynote, and then added the sound effect there. Then, we added it on top of "Pink Bow" in iMovie. I think this part looks really cool. Doing this helped me expand my editing skills a lot. I lea

Production Blog: Finished Editing!

Today, we finished editing our project. We added in music from a royalty-free website. The website was called Envato elements. Unfortunately, the artists that we emailed never got back to us. Although this was bad news, we did not let it change our attitude. We wanted to finish the project as best and quickly as we could. So we moved on right away to Plan B. Events like these are why we took so long planning. If we didn't have a backup, we would have to spend more time thinking of a new idea. So, we added the. music right in where they are supposed to be. Then, we added the titles. This was actually more difficult than we expected. We had to blur out street signs in our videos to add the titles on top. We had to research first, and learn how to do this. Eventually, we figured it out by using a second app outside of iMovie. Then, we went back into iMovie and added the actual words. After we finished, we rewatched the project a couple of times. I am happy with how it turned out! We

Today, our goal was to complete editing. We got together and refilmed a few final shots that we wanted to improve. So we went around the neighborhood and filmed them. They took a couple of tries, but we eventually got them. It is difficult without a microphone. I would say that is our biggest struggle. Whenever a plane flies by, or even a gust of wind, we need to stop recording and wait for all of the noise to settle down. We also need to talk very loudly to be picked up. However, we made it through this issue. Then, we began editing. I am not very good at computers. I learned how to edit throughout this whole year. With the commercial and music video project, I got better at it. We used iMovie once again. We had to go through all of the different cuts and find which one was the best. After that, we inserted them all into iMovie. Then we used transitions to make it smoother. We added titles to the title scenes. We had to adjust the lighting on some clips to make it better. We also had

Production Blog: More Editing

Today, I got on FaceTime with my group member, Ashlyn, and we continued to edit. We wrote down all of the clips that we need to refilm. We had quite a few to do. A lot of the videos had background noise that was overpowering the dialogue. Things such as airplanes, cars, and even just nature. We need to think of something to resolve this issue. Using an iPhone to film gets difficult since we don't have a professional microphone. We are thinking of different ways to accomplish what we need, such as finding a quieter area or purchasing an attachable mic. Other than that, watching what we had done in the film was pretty exciting. It was cool to see everything come together. Just like watching our storyboard and plans come to life.  Another issue that we faced was the music. A couple of weeks ago, we reached out to two singers and their production labels. We did this through social media. However, none of them answered. Today, we reached out once again to the labels, this time through e

We have not been able to get together again since our last filming date. We are planning on next week so that we can finish filming. After that, we might meet up a couple more times to edit. However, we can edit while on a group FaceTime call. This is a useful tool since editing can only be done on one computer. We have started editing on iMovie. We all have this downloaded on our computers. We are all familiar with the software so that is good. Editing is not one of my strong suits. My group members are helping me progress as we move along, which I appreciate a lot. I think what we have done so far looks great! It amazes me how good my group is with technology. I feel so behind when I watch, but they always explain everything to me. I even edited some parts by myself. We have finished all of the title scenes and a little further than that. Right now, we are having a dilemma with our music. We have reached out to a few labels and artists. Unfortunately, none of them have answered. It
